Ben Hogan was a leading component of shifting the knees and keeping the head back to come into the ball properly. Today pros do use the hip/knee flexing to come through the ball. But this long video is interesting. Note on the backswing his left arm is rotated over his back shoulder. And his shoulders at near 90 degrees rotation before the laft arm is raised.
