Swing Setup
The Grip
This repeats the information in the Beginners section.
We recommend the interlocking grip. Fortunately, all the practice clubs and practice grips force your hands into the correct interlocking positions. Again, I recommend learning how to transfer the practice grip to a regular grip.
To this end, GLG has arranged with an eCommerce website to sell the "Grip Learning" unit of two grips, one a practice grip and the other a white grip with outlines where your hands and fingers should be placed.
You really don't need this training aid, but if it works for you, go with it as it is the easiest way to learn a good grip.
Most amateurs place their thumbs directly down the shaft. Please learn the correct grip and never go back just because you are used to the wrong grip. A bad grip directly affects your swing.

The Stance
Step One
Stand Straight Up and grab your club with the proper grip. Some golfers like the forward foot tilted forward about 5 degrees. Even weight on each leg making sure your weight is on the inside of both feet pushing outward. This gives a very secure base for swinging and allows for loading the back leg for the back swing..
Step Two
You will need to bend your ankles, knees and waist. Do all this by squatting straight down with your backside sticking out and leaning forward at your hips, not waist. When you are finished bending your body your arms should still be straight down with your weight evenly spread to the inside of each foot.
Step Three
Your forward arm should be straight aligning with the club shaft, forcing your hands to be slightly ahead of the ball. Also, you will find your back shoulder lower than the front shoulder. Lock your arms, wrists, and shoulders as they will work as one unit.
